The pitch

You ride as a headless horseman, and your burning jack-o'-lantern is your head, your light and your only ammo. Throw it at the other rider. Miss, and you ride blind through the fog with your light shrunk to a small ring until you get back to where it landed.

Spare jack-o'-lanterns grow in the grass and serve as reloads while your head is out. First to 30 hits wins, and a 10-hit lead ends the match early.

How to play

  1. Ride with W A S D or the arrow keys and aim with the mouse.
  2. Throw your head with a left click or Space.
  3. Miss, and ride back to where it landed, or grab a spare jack-o'-lantern from the grass.
  4. Light candles (Q) to block throws and loose the crows (right click) to hunt the other rider.
  5. Reach 30 hits first, or get 10 ahead.

Controls

Keyboard and mouse

Ride: WASD or arrow keys. Aim: mouse. Throw: left click or Space. Candles: Q. Crows: right click. Pause: P or Esc.

Touch

Left stick rides, right stick aims. Push the right stick all the way out to throw.

Gamepad

Left stick rides, right stick aims. Right trigger or A throws, right bumper or B looses the crows, left bumper or X lights the candles.

  • First to 30 hits, with a mercy rule at a 10-hit lead (switch it off in Options)
  • One player against the CPU at three levels, Target Practice with no fog, two players on one screen, and a two-minute tutorial
  • Seven pickups in the grass, from Crows to Harvest Moon and Nightmare Gallop
